"Just do it, that's all; my daddy says I got natural talent."

Um…wow it’s been a long time since I’ve been here. HI!

serenityascendant:

  Here’s how it is.
The Alliance got a slap in the face after folk everywhere heard about what happened on Miranda. Some believed it, some didn’t, but that didn’t change the truth. Now there’s unrest, civil disobedience, outright rioting. The Alliance is having a hard time keeping its citizens under control, and the Independents are starting to rise again. Through all this chaos, captains and regular folk are trying to do what they’ve always done:
     Find work, keep flying.
But it’s getting awful crowded in our sky.

All Manner of Foolishness

serenitycaptain:

"You’re welcome," he said softly, then kissed her forehead. He didn’t dare do any more than that. He hauled himself to his feet and ran a hand through his hair. He had work to do, and so did she. He couldn’t keep distracting her like this, as much as he wanted to, and as much as he suspected she wanted him to. But Serenity was their mutual love, and he would leave the girls to spend some time together.

"Alright. I got me some work to be done. See you at dinner?"

Kaylee cleared her throat and nodded quickly. She had been lost in thought and with his sudden movement she was brought back to the present - although she was somewhat disappointed that he was leaving, she understood. He was captain after all, and she couldn’t hog all of his time, no matter how much they would prefer it that way.

"Go do your captainy things, I’ll be here til’ foods ready." She smiled softly as she stood. There wasn’t much work to be done at the moment, but Kaylee knew something would need her attention after a while. Serenity always needed her.

All Manner of Foolishness

serenitycaptain:

"I’ll pick you out somethin’ that accentuates your features in all the right places."

Mal didn’t know how to explain to her that she did look good, that was irresistible, that other men had seen it too. She walked down the street, even in engine grease and coveralls, and there wasn’t a head that didn’t turn, male and female alike. Kaylee had a life to her that was damn attractive, and it seemed to Mal that anyone who didn’t notice was either a fool or dead.

He reached out his hand and brushed it across the side of her face, his fingertips resting on her lips before trailing down to her throat. He wanted to kiss her so badly, but he held back, knowing that if he gave in now, he would be lost.

"You’re beautiful," he murmured. "And that’s a fact."

Humming again when his fingers brushed across her throat, Kaylee’s eyes fluttered close. A flashback to the night before was brought to the forefront of her mind and it made her shiver. His hand around her throat wasn’t something she thought she would like, but he had done it in such a possessive manner that simply did something to her. It turned her on - way more than expected.

"Thank ya Mal." Kaylee’s voice was weak suddenly and looking up at him through half closed lashes, she sighed softly. She wanted to ask him about what happened, but feared it wouldn’t be the right time. It would either cause some sort of fight or then to end up on the engine room floor with no clothes on. And with those odds, she opted to stay quiet.

All Manner of Foolishness

Mal leaned into the tantalizing kiss, still longing for more after Kaylee pulled away. But he knew that she was right to do so. They had to keep control of themselves, at least until they were all rich and wealthy-like and settled into their hotel room.

"You always look good," He murmured. "More than good. Damn near irresistible."

"That’s just you being sweet on me. I wanna look good.” Kaylee chuckled softly and nudged his shoulder with her own. She was always flattered when he said things in that manner and while she was just starting to believe that they were true, she couldn’t accept all of them just yet.

Her lips tingled with the urge to kiss him again but she knew if she gave in now, she wouldn’t be able to stop. Paired with the compliment, their proximity and the promise of sex later on, it was hard to focus. Mal said that she made him muddled, but she didn’t have a problem saying the exact same thing.

All Manner of Foolishness

serenitycaptain:

Mal saw her eyes darkening, and he could guess what was going through her mind. It was going through his mind, too. He wouldn’t be opposed to that private show, and he just nodded with a smirk.

"Dong ma. I’ll do my best," he said. "I’d best be pickin’ you out somethin’ good."

With a hum of agreement - that sounded strangely familiar with that of the engine - Kaylee kissed him quickly. Although as soon as her lips pressed against his, she pulled away again. It wasn’t the right time for the pair of them to get carried away, not now. She was still sore from the night before and wasn’t sure she could handle anything else right now.

"Best you do. I wanna look good for ya." Her voice was low, and her eyes were still dark but she tried to keep a clear head. It was strange, planning a vacation - but it was more nice than anything else. After all, it was about time the crew took a break just for themselves.

All Manner of Foolishness

serenitycaptain:

"Hey, I wanna see you in that suit I’m pickin’ out for you," Mal said with a laugh. And he did, but the thought of luxuriating in a nice comfy hotel room did seem awful appealing. He smirked at Kaylee’s eagerness; he was learning exactly what buttons to push.

"Gotta spend one hour outside every day. The rest of the time… you can do what you want with me. Shiny?"

"Well hey now, I’d still wear the suit for ya. A little private showin’ just for you. Like the sound ’ that?" She grinned. The thought made her eyes grow darker, but she stayed focused on the present. It was nice to tease though, and who knew - it might end up that way, knowing how they were.

"Sounds shiny cap’n. Long as ya have fun while we’re outside. Dong ma?"

All Manner of Foolishness

serenitycaptain:

Mal chuckled. She was right, true enough, and it was more public than he would have liked as well. He wanted to keep her all to himself. “Hm. Well in that case.”

He smirked. “All the sexin’ will just have to wait until we’re in our private suite.” He hoped that would leave some impression on her. A promise of a private suite in some beach resort would have gotten his attention, that was for sure.

Kaylee shivered. The very idea that they would be able to share a private room on some fancy planet got her attention, that was for sure. It made her wish this job could be over sooner. And with the promise of more sex, Kaylee grinned again.

"Don’t think we’ll even see the light o’ day on this vacation o’ ours though. With a promise like that and all."

All Manner of Foolishness

serenitycaptain:

"All them damn things are is strings," Mal said. But he would find something they could both agree on. That was a strange feeling: being given the freedom to go clothes shopping for someone. That would take some getting used to.

"Sexin’ me in public? Well we will be on a beach. Think you can resist?" he asked, smirking. "I can see that look in your eyes. You’re thinkin’ about it, aren’t you?"

Kaylee’s cheeks faded into a darker shade of pink as she looked away from him. Damn him for being able to read her so well. She smiled sheepishly and with a shrug she attempted to play it off.

"Ain’t so. ‘Sides, we’d be bound to get sand everywhere if we even tried. Sounds a might bit uncomfortable to me." She replied firmly. It sounded nice though, with the sun warming them as they lay together on the beach, the water lapping at their toes. But no, the beach was far to public for her liking.
